@matigo That’s very much along the lines I’ve been thinking for a while now. Forced lower input speed to encourage thinking before writing.
Looks like the battery is charging nicely as well. Had a world of luck last year when I managed to snag a brand new one for way less than the usual asking price. Actually lets the old PowerBook be a portable machine, and not a bad one either.
A thorough internal cleaning is definitely in order. The fan has kicked in, and the machine is barely doing anything right now. I suspect that the 15 year old thermal paste is not doing its job anymore.
@variablepulserate The machines I have currently are all last generation PPC, so I prefer Leopard. There could be some times when Tiger makes sense, and I will be installing it alongside Leopard and probably OpenBSD once I get the SSD installed.
This PowerBook needs a good cleaning, inside and out. But after that, I'm sure it'll be a swell writing machine!
Upgraded my PowerBook G4 12" to maximum RAM and apparently there is also an update for Safari?
@matigo That probably explains why I haven’t been subjected to their noise as much as I used to, these past few years.
