Depends a bit on what the content in question is. All my writing lives in Simplenote on mobile, and Notational Velocity (the original, not Alt) syncs to it on the Mac. Have used the web interface in a pinch, although I don't fancy it as much.

My cookbook get exported out of Evernote when they started sucking too much and it lives in Apple's Notes right now, although that's just a big unsearchable mess that I need to deal with some time.

Videos I have Air Video for, but only at home on my own network, not over the scary net. Should probably look into alternatives here, but I'm lazy since it works as well as it does.

Photos live in Apple's Photos app on respective platform, but I need to get my albums in order and put things where they are supposed to be for future reference ans such. Syncs reasonably well, but some teeth grinding occurs every so often.

Urgh… Evernote. The text editor that got so much crap bolted on that they could barely fit in the kitchen sink.

Oh dear. Is it converted to be a zombie destroyer or something along those lines?

Yeah, that's actually understandable. Those are more a charade put into place by people who cover their own asses as much as possible and do as little useful work as they are able to get away with.

When someone disconnects or re-wires a device to no longer do what it was designed to do, in the sense of not letting you enter an area with heavy metal hanging above head, that's another story completely.

Has driven me nuts for the better part of 6 years, and there doesn't appear to be any improvement in sight. I just can't grasp why they stubbornly refuse to build more alternatives into their apps. I'd take WebDAV any day, since I can run that on my own machine, if I so choose. In Dropbox I have no trust, and have not had for a very long time. Key reason why I don't have it installed anywhere, and I'm not using the accounts I have.

I have this weird thing where I lose a lot of respect for people who disable safety systems. Quite often, those systems are put into place for very good reasons.

The over-reliance on Dropbox when it comes to text editors on iOS is greatly disturbing.

I'll check out 1Writer. Thanks for the tip! :)

I have quite seriously contemplated hiring someone to make it. No option that I'm aware of on the market is quite what I want.

Perhaps I should sit down and attempt to learn how to make apps and port Notational Velocity over. Might actually learn something along the way.?

Guess it's time to add yet another service to the list of services I've given up on.
