Too bad that such a thing is necessary, but I fear it is the same in all societies. I have a feeling I will experience it in the future, if I get my way and we can live in Japan for a year or two.

@kdfrawg More or less, yes. I've killed off the official app (again) and my timeline is a custom list with only the accounts I like/tolerate.

The only reason I still have my account and use the damn thing is for work and a few contacts I don't have anywhere else.

@kdfrawg In my apartment building I think the "handy people" own a drill and a hammer and no other tools.
