Cyberpunk never died, although a lot of people appear to think so. In actuality, it just transitioned from fiction to reality, over time. Now, we're living it in one way or another.
@tomas Ah yes, I have been recommended the Mass Effect series. I believe I got Mass Effect 2 in a bundle some year ago, so I'll have to get the other two.
On a related note; the porn industry clearly dropped the ball on Mass Effect. I mean, how perfect of a spoof title isn't "Ass Effect"? ?
@gtwilson That's impressive and scary at the same time. Code all the way from -79, still today. Legacy can be creepy though.
@tomas Awesomeness! I'll be living mostly in the land of games from yesteryear or earlier, so that will most likely be perfect for me. Besides, I get to muck around with electronics/computers besides the repair work I do at my job.
Hm, I really should get on finishing up my dongle-Raspberry Pi and start working on the hom server before that though.
@tomas That sounds about right with the 670 in 2012. I'm always a generation or two behind, so I'm used to older hardware. Should still beat the intel 6000 HD I have in my MacBook Air.
@tomas If I have my numbers straight, the 970 should beat both the 600-series of cards, although they are apparently close in performance, depending on the model.
GPUs, man. What a confusing market! Was a lot easier 13 years ago.

@tomas Hard to say. I'm looking at the used market to score the most processing power at he lowest price. Maybe something like an Nvidia 670 or 680. Something with the last numbers being 70 or 80 at least. ?
