Seriously annoyed with how most of the web works, or rather doesn't work, these days. Doubly so in regards to new systems at work, which has brought more headache than the promised improvements.

It's a fekkin fresh breeze to come visit 10C and Cappuccino!

So yeah, I'm still here. Just been drowning in sweat and work.

I’ll go line up Alice Cooper’s “The Man Behind The Mask” as a soundtrack for your shopping.

Haven't tried the real world numbers just yet, but the numbers promise a run-time of about 5 hours, depending on what I get up to.

So yeah, this is the first post from my "new" PowerBook G4.

I have, fortunately, not futzes around with that in ages. Used it quite a bit back in the days of Word 97, and that actually worked well. I take it it has all gone downhill from there?

I can’t for the world of me understand how anyone can make a charger quite this dirty. I have been traveling the world with mine, bringing them to university and stuff for daily commutes, but never have I managed this level of filthyness on any part of the system. I’m impressed and horrified at the same time.

Oh for sure! Seeing all the different architectures that got tested after meltdown and spectre became public has been quite fascinating. Like, for instance, the Raspberry Pi machines are immune because they simply don’t contain that CPU feature. Funny enough, that’s a cost saving measure. ?

Otherwise, this little PowerBook will be a play machine for me, so I might get up to some FreeBSD shenanigans besides the retro OS X goodies. Heck, with Tiger installed, I can even run some OS 9 stuff in classic mode.

Judging by my post count, I've been working a fair bit lately. Must try to remedy that now that I have a few days off as compensation for nightshift.

It's also a last generation PowerBook, so I'm more than happy about that. Still some room for improvement, though. That RAM can be doubled.
