Finally got around to setting up the Mac mini. Surprisingly snappy, but I suspect that's mostly from the SSD the previous owner installed. With all the system updates applied, and ArcticFox installed as a web browser, I dare to say it actually runs YouTube nonsense perfectly fine. I'm impressed with this 12 year old machine!

Pretty neat service they have there! A bit out of my price range, and I wouldn’t know what to do with a remote machine like that, but for those who need it, it’s probably great.

My motivation for setting up an Apple-centric home computer lab would be 20% to learn, fiddle and have fun, and the remaining percentages to mess with people and annoy the heck out of them. Because, you know, everything with an Apple logo on it sucks because reasons.
