@hybotics That’s my theory as well. It’s a bit too sudden for pretty much every video, specially the ones that are recommended by the algorithms. Conspiracy by YouTube much?
Youtube is getting worse by the day. Every stinking video has two pre-roll ads, at least one commercial break doing the video, and usually followed up by one or two ads after the video has ended.
I really don't mind people getting paid for their labours, but this is starting to look like the TV I abandoned back in 2008, and I have no intent on living with that again in this year.
I really need to step up my game when it comes to actually putting texts online, beyond small rants here on 10Centuries and over on PNut. Need to figure out my strategy of doing stuff online again.
@matigo I would be quite fine with that, honestly. I'm (extremely) slowly moving towards hosting one or a few web sites from home, on a Raspberry Pi of course. Cut down, back to basics, static web pages, the way I would prefer the web to be once again, in many ways.
I'm so horribly tired of all the contemporary web sites with their cascade loading of scripts and bazillions of way semi-suspect companies track your every move online. I don't want to add to that noise any more than I absolutely have to. Heck, I don't even want to use cookies on the upcoming web site.
Small and just enough powerful single board computers have really changed everything, yet most people don't even notice. Maybe some day soon, but I won't hold my breath.
@matigo Trust me, indoors humidity drops like a tech stock did back in 2000, every year at around this time.
Darn close to upgrading to a Philips combined humidifier and air purifier, because dust is the bane of my existence in this apartment.
@matigo Besides tech-savvy people, I imagine few people would use the possibilities of the always-on internet connection in such a way.
Definitely that time of the year again, so humidifier has been cleaned and deployed.
@matigo One could start suspecting that the ISP doesn’t know what they are doing…
@phoneboy Coincidentally, the terms “Black Friday” and “Cyber Monday” are probably the two I despise the most.
