Sounds like the average level of the stuff I find interesting on eBay. ;D

Shipping cost twice as much as the ware… No thanks!

I need to find one of those nice iPad holders that kind of made it look like a shrunk down iMac. Love the look on that stuff. Already have a wireless keyboard, so that should make it an ideal writing station.

Meat is something I'm not sure about yet. There is a huge investment in time to keep animals beyond what you mentioned in pure raw materials, so I'll probably still have to buy that. Backup plan is to go all vegetarian, so I don't want to stand without options for my home-made hamburgers. :D

Will do! ??

The plan is to get around 30 acres of land, so there should be space enough. ;D

It'll give me fewer headaches, I think. Giving up on the stuff I really don't need is a better use of my time anyways. SFTP I'd be able to use from anywhere in the world, and my aim is to put the Pi directly on the public facing Internet anyways.

I have been looking into that, yes. With a combination of having a house that is part greenhouse, and using hydroponics and aquaponics, it should be a realistically sustainable habitat with built-in food creation. Coffee beans included. :D

Nope, neither SAMBA nor Netatalk wants to play nice on the Raspberry Pi. I guess I'll just setup a SFTP server and do it the good old way.

All I know is that I'm aiming to buy a reasonably large piece of land, build a home that's going to last for at least 100 years, and start growing my own food as far as that's possible. Then I'll worry less about what the rest of the world gets up to.
