@matigo Yup. Alas, it shall have to be a dream.
Until I get enough knowledge and time to effectively design and make my own logic board with a processor and surrounding support chips to make it a reality. 😁

@matigo Unfortunately, making the upgrade to the Intel 5650U won't make a difference either, since that also maxes out at 16GiB. 😕
Oh well. For more RAM, I'll have to hold my horses and keep looking for that cheap Mac Pro that is bound to pop up at some point.
@matigo It's the 5250U. I had hopes it would take up to 32GiB as well, but Intel's own spec sheet says it tops out at 16GiB.
@matigo In the case of my MacBook Air, that is unfortunately 16GiB. 😕
Still, doubling the RAM and getting one of the extremely few 11” machines with more than 8GiB would be darn cool. And useful!
@matigo Well, technically, it is replaceable RAM, just not end-user replaceable. Admittedly, it's not a procedure I'd do willy-nilly since it's pretty fiddly.
But yeah, socketed RAM would sure be preferred. Getting my MacBook Air up to 16GiB will be quite the long procedure.
Looks like my new coat won't make it here before the weekend. Oh well, something to look forward to next week.
@matigo It makes me wonder how we ever managed to get to this point, as a species.
