@matigo Exactly!
That kind of bodes well for the iPad (generation 1) I intend to have as a dedicated writing machine.

@matigo Yup! I'm trying to make each of my machines focused on a specific task, or a specific set of tasks. No more cruft and hopefully more snappy performance.
@matigo That it is. Now I have, by my standards, nearly no apps installed, and darn close to no content inside them. Refreshing!
@hybotics I'm inclined to agree with your theory, based on my own observations over the last couple of years. I'm hoping that better file systems will remedy this, at least to a degree, but even better storage is probably what we really need.
Smaller amount of storage definitely is a big part of the equation. Cache and swap takes its toll and when there isn't enough ram, where is stuff to go, right?
Devices are getting better and better, but there are still many things to improve yet. :)
On a related note, the new Reddit client for iOS blows chunks on an iPad. I'm sticking with the old Alien Blue until that stops working or they make the newer app not suck and waste screen real estate.
I could be mistaken, but after the reset my iPad mini sure seems more responsive than before. Also has a lot less crud on it, which is nice.
@kdfrawg It's a pretty slick process, as long as it gets going. Had to tap the power button once, but that was it.
@kdfrawg Even older! ?
The original iPad from 2010 is what I yearn for. Had hoped people would be tossing them at me by now, but they've been surprisingly elusive.
