@matigo Bummer!
@indigo Neato! Continuing to use older tech is kind of my thing, so your idea is excellent!
I’ve never even held the original model, so it’s a bit of me discovering recent tech past too.
@matigo Actually, the original iPad never got iOS 6. Which is one of the key reasons, as iOS 6 broke some older apps. As far as I know, iOS 5.1.1 should be the best you can get for those older apps.

@indigo Basically it’ll be a portal to older apps that are no longer updated or even available on the App Store.
And if I get a hold of one with 64GiB of storage, I’ll use it as a movie/tv-series viewer for offline situations.
The quest for a generation 1 iPad continues. Every time I see a decent one on online auction it always gets a gazillion bids in no-time and I might as well buy a brand new one for the price it ends up at.
Hm. My new t-shirt has arrived, but I can’t pick it up until tomorrow.
Oh well. Something to look forward to tomorrow after work.
@hazardwarning That sounds familiar. I recall SuSE did the same too.
I’m leaning towards FreeBSD or OpenBSD now.
