@peemee Just awesome how technology manages to work together sometimes.
Looks like my new-to-me server has arrived at the local depot. Too bad I have no time and no energy to go fetch it today. Hopefully I’ll be back to full spec tomorrow, and I’ll nab it on the way home from work.
Yes, it’s another Mac mini, but this one can take 8GiB of RAM, which is nice.
@matigo Nah, I evaluated that and concluded that I’d get into things I had no interest in. Mostly imports and customs, together with Swedish Tax Authority bureaucracy, and I want as little to do with those as possible.
I’m settling for a recipe website and suggest local replacements for the real Japanese deal. A market that’s ripe for plundering around my parts of the world!
@matigo I need to figure out how to run a pile of Windows legacy programs first, and I’m sure they’ll try to execute me/fire me for messing with corporate it stuff.
But I’m SO tempted to blow Windows 10 out of that machine! Want a system that doesn’t do whacky shit all the time, forcing me to reboot at the most inappropriate times.
@matigo Nope, but autocorrupt decided to “help” me write again. About as useful as Clippy, but without the charm.
I meant to say “keep making…”, but yeah. ?
Should read more thoroughly before pressing send. I blame my fever and cough…
@matigo I should buy the ryouri domain again and actually set up a Japanese food website. I figure it could be a small side-income, if done right.
@matigo Keep mailing that walnut bread, and I’ll invite myself over for a slice!
@peemee An absolutely wonderful tale of how to use things to their best, even though it might not be obvious at first. ?
I’ve been getting the itch to buy a minidisc Player lately. Perhaps a proper record player too, because there is a lot of neat stuff on vinyl these days.
@matigo Maybe just a smidgen.
How are you liking Ubuntu 18.10 otherwise? Don’t think I’ve asked.
@matigo See? It’s way better than getting one of those USB-heater plates to keep your mug warm in winter! ?
