This is a sight I haven't seen for quite a while. Netbot and Tweetbot

Fascinating. After the complete reset and restore I performed on the 3GS some time ago, I can now install apps via iTunes from my computer again. This pleases me!

Sounds like a plan! ?

Something, something, attention span of an orange…

My current insanity is to get out of the clutches of Anyone Else™ for my data. That means RSS-feeds, CalDAV, CardDAV, and some "interesting" little tools I'm tinkering with going on my own server that I have at home. Might have to go colocation, or perhaps even VPS for reliability, but I'd much rather be able to touch the server with my own hands.

Awesome input! I'm learning more on databases and seeing what's necessary or suitable for my needs. Unfortunately, the world is standardized on using very specific software, and I'm not in the mood to rewrite large portions of code I have little to no insight into, so I might be stuck having to use some stuff just because of that. :/

Either that or I have to actually learn how to code and start walking down your path by writing everything I want by myself. Wouldn't be bad, but it'd take forever for me.

OK, since I'm both lazy and waaaaay behind on my web dev stuff. What's the better/best database server to use in the realm of Linux these days? I used to run MySQL and a lot of software seems to still like that, but I want to see what real devs use and prefer nowadays. :)

I can definitely see that. What worries me is the mentality of "lets add everything and a kitchen sink" in software development.

The proper way to design things, as always! ???

Indeed. I follow the principle of when there is nothing left to remove, perfection has been attained. :D
