I love the concept and your approach, and it is a genuinely interesting topic. Just like you mentioned, there is a huge volume of garbage reporting, and some people appear to have their tinfoil hats tuned to the nearest radio station.

1200 reports from the same dude either means he is the talking sensation of the inter-galactic joke shows about lesser evolved species, or a certifiable nut. I'll let you guess which of those two I believe it more likely.

A shame you shelved the whole thing, but I can't blame you for it. It's still a laughing matter to many people, most people don't even understand what the term "U.F.O." means, and far too many arsewipes out there clutter up whatever systems we have with junk.

Problem with trusting other people to rate/review/whatever to reports will, as you so aptly put it, result in a flood of counterproductive nonsense. I mean, just look at any given app store. I wouldn't trust any of these reviews because people are, given the lack of evidence to the contrary, absolute morons.

Maybe we can work our way around most of the problems, but the people problem will likely be the biggest to overcome.
