@jextxadore I'm starting to move in that direction too. Will try to keep the 3GS going by wiping and restoring from backup, but if that doesn't work I'll have to look at getting a newer iPhone.
Sure, the Prē 3 is very nice, but there are many things I cannot do with it that even the 3GS can. :/
