@matigo Nah I think you are quite right about that, and I suspect that's a part of the design of them. When I pump up the volume they still bleed in sounds from the outside, even if it's my usual loud music. Great for my family who can bother me far easier than when I'm using my Philips over-the-ear headphones. :D
