Yup! At least that nonsense is harmless, if yet annoying for us who know these things.

I honestly can’t fathom how WD’s hard-wired backdoor made it through QA.

Think I’d rather take the Hollywood nonsense in comparison.

Hard wired backdoors. Sounds like a Hollywood trope.

Wife made a comment yesterday about how much energy I appear to have lately. I blame the new calendar year and having a few days off at Christmas.

And the fact that I have a job I can’t take home is probably helping too.

Lots of free audiobooks and radio dramas. Hmm. When do I have the time, though?

Rock me, Amadeus!

Far, far beyond. In various degrees every single computer with a processor from intel, AMD, or ARM built since 1995. Including servers, desktops, laptops, tablets, and phones. ?

It’s been the talk of the week, and I suspect we’ll be talking about it for some time to come.

Nifty! Hadn’t heard about the Arduino IDE before. Very cool development!

I guess I could try with a Pi3, at least for the web server project.

It’s for my laptop project that I’m concerned with heat generation. I guess, if I’m not pegging the processor on all cores for long periods of time, it might be ok. Guess I could try to use the old original cooling system, somehow.

@kdfrawg Indeed! They soon realized their mistake and scrapped the whole idea. Don’t know about the modern engines, but I have a hard time imagining they went back.

Thats the one! Not something I want to have to deal with. Had plenty of its relatives over the years and they’ve been bulletproof, but this weirdness is too much for me.
