I appear to have omitted some text in my previous text. I meant to say the official Raspberry Pi display is prohibitively expensive. :D

My only complaint about the Raspberry Pi is the price of it around here. Prohibitively expensive, and I could get a semi-decent 21" display for the same price. :/

I'd love to have one otherwise though, but right now it looks like I'm going to go for a custom case with a display somewhere around 3" to 5" and maybe an HDMI input so I can plug in whatever else I have kicking around. :D

I'll probably have to whip up some small keyboard to go with the custom case and display, which shouldn't be too hard, but finding the parts can be a bit of a hassle. Totally with you on your issue. There are just so many bits and pieces all over the place, which makes me worry extra much since I have a small kid running around. :D

What's with some web pages loading like they're being read off of a cassette tape attached to a Commodore 64?

I'm starting to wonder if a small Raspberry Pi-based computer running off a battery pack, which I can keep with me at all times, is the ultimate in "personal cloud". I could run pretty much everything I need on it when I'm out and about, and just plug it into the home network when I'm at home again.

@height8 I'm just glad it's not on sale so I can purchase it. It's eat up all my available time in a jiffy.

Ah yes, I remember it now that you mention it.

I found a reasonably priced dual drive USB 3.0 enclosure earlier today, so I'm tempted to pick up two SSDs to shove in three and have some blazingly fast storage.

Very impressive price for two 512GiB drives!

Wow, the prices of SSDs have really gone down since last time I checked. Now I can actually buy a reasonably big SSD and put into an external USB 3.0 cabinet without breaking the bank.

Oh, a quiz to "find out how millennial you are". Please go away and never venture into my field of view again.

Balance is the key, as with all things. I prefer to stand for work, and have breaks of sitting down every now and then. Don't know about any side effects of this so far, but maybe they'll show up in a few years.
